ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. PI-CIR-97-41 S0697041

RE: PINELLAS COUNTY WORK RELEASE PROGRAM

The Board of County Commissioners for Pinellas County, by Resolution 84-260 approved the implementation of a work release program in Pinellas County as authorized by Section 951.24, Florida Statutes; and

By Administrative Order 84-86 dated July 30, 1984, the in-jail custody and week-end programs were established; and

In order to continue such work release programs; it is

ORDERED:

1. The rules and regulations of both programs promulgated by the Office of the Sheriff and which are attached hereto, are hereby ratified and approved.

2. In the event any person serving in either program shall commit or be charged with the commission of any criminal offense or shall commit a material violation of the rules and regulations of the program, the Sheriff is authorized to suspend such person from the benefits of the program and detain such person as a general prisoner until the next following Advisory Hearing to which such person shall be taken.

3. The judge presiding at the Advisory Hearing shall have the authority, with the concurrence of the Sheriff, to reinstate such person to the benefits of the program or to order such person to be detained and taken before the judge who initially imposed sentence at the earliest possible date.

4. On request of the Sheriff, Criminal Administration shall contact the sentencing judge and schedule an appropriate hearing.

Pinellas Administrative Order 84-86 is hereby rescinded.
