ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. PA/PI-CIR-00-46

RE:    PUBLIC INTERNET ADDRESS AND ELECTRONIC MAIL ACCESS

          Pursuant to In Re Amendments to Rule of Judicial Administration, 651 So.2d 1185 (Fla. 1995), it is

          ORDERED:

            1.         The Courts Administrator shall establish and publish a public electronic mail address for the Courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit and shall delegate the responsibility for screening and dissemination of electronic mail message received from the public as may be required.

          2.           Each user of the Sixth Judicial Circuit electronic mail system who initiates official court business correspondence and transmits it by electronic mail shall determine at the time the message is created whether the mail is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to Rule 2.051, Florida Rules of Judicial Administration.

          3.           Any non-exempt e-mail message made and transmitted in connection with official court business shall be electronically stored so that it may be made available to the public.

          4.           Nothing in this order shall prohibit a judge from communicating directly with the public through electronic mail or from publishing his or her electronic mail address.

          Administrative Order 95-112 is hereby rescinded.
